China’s leader Xi Jinping emphasized his stance on resolving the conflict in Ukraine, which is about promoting peace through diplomatic efforts, as stated by China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Xi informed the leader of the European Council that from China’s perspective, Europe is a key player in a world with multiple power centres and expressed support for the European Union’s ability to make its own strategic decisions.

He pointed out that Beijing and Brussels don’t have major clashes of interest or geopolitical disagreements. The Chinese government has confidence in the EU and wants to enhance strategic dialogue.

China’s President Xi Jinping and Costa Rica’s President Rodrigo Chaves discussed the war in Ukraine condition.

“Both parties discussed topics like Ukraine. Xi Jinping outlined China’s stance, which focuses on promoting peace and facilitating negotiations,” the statement said.

In December, Xi Jinping made a statement about the war in Ukraine during a meeting with Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev. According to Xi, Beijing is sticking to “three principles of de-escalation.”

The conflict zone should not spread any further. We should steer clear of escalation and any provocations that could lead to more fighting and violence.

Notably, the respected outlet Politico suggests that a possible pairwise alliance between Xi Jinping and Donald Trump in 2025 may bring an end to the war in Ukraine at a satisfactory peace terme.
